LS 206 Payment of Compensation Without Award

Your employer under the LHWCA may complete an LS 206 form if your employer is voluntarily making payments to you under the LHWCA. In general, the LS 206 form simply documents to the Department of Labor that your employer is voluntarily making payments under the Longshore Act due to a work-related injury or illness which you have suffered. Most employers will send copies of the LS 206 to the injured employee notifying them that payments are being made voluntarily. Generally an employee under the Longshore Act is not required to take any action or steps when they receive the LS 206 form from their employer.
