TTD Benefits
Temporary total disability (TTD) benefits are typically paid to an injured worker under the LHWCA from the time of his injury until the doctor releases him to return to some form of employment. As the name implies, TTD benefits are paid only to employees who are temporarily totally disabled. You will normally receive these benefits during the first few weeks or months of your injury while your treating physician is trying to determine if it is safe for you to return to limited or light duty work. You can often tell if you are receiving TTD benefits by looking at your compensation check and seeing how your employer is labeling the benefits being paid to you.
